Why upgrade to DSL from Dial-up?

DSL is at least six times faster than 56K dial-up connections, letting you download emails, movies, music, and games faster than any dial-up account.
Talk on the phone while you’re on the internet.
A DSL line costs less than adding another standard phone line.
DSL is available in two personal plans and speeds to fit any budget.

How does DSL work?

DSL (digital subscriber line) is a “broadband” internet connection that consists of two parts, the physical line that carries the data to your location and the connection out to the internet over that line. You can think of the connection that the phone company provides as a road and the access that Fibernet provides as the car that drives on it. You need both to get somewhere. Because DSL is a digital signal that is carried across telephone lines at a frequency much higher than human hearing can detect, you can use a phone line both for talking and surfing the Internet at the same time.
The cost of the “road” or DSL line provided by Qwest is added to the cost of your phone bill.
DSL is not available in every area because the digital signal decays as it travels further along copper wires. Therefore, if your home sits too far from where the signal originates, it will become too weak. A Fibernet customer service representative will be happy to help you find out if your telephone line qualifies for DSL service. If you do not currently qualify for DSL, we can recommend other options. The Qwest network is constantly changing, growing and updating, so it is advisable to check back on DSL availability ever 30 to 60 days.

How much does it cost?

Fibernet DSL fees are in two parts, the line fee (billed by Qwest) and the ISP fee (invoiced separately by Fibernet).  The price depends upon the speed of DSL line you choose and your term agreement. We offer two personal DSL options as well as business DSL starting at only $29.95 a month or $39.95 including static IP's.

What’s next?

Call us and ask a representative if your phone line qualifies for DSL.  We can check your telephone number with Qwest’s DSL availability database to tell you if your line can support DSL or not.
Next, decide what level of service and speed you want.  Fibernet’s customer service team can help you decide which service level is right for your needs.
Order DSL through Fibernet.  Fibernet can complete the entire order process with you over the telephone, even ordering the Qwest DSL line, in just 20 minutes.
